Not a bad scene, but IMO it would have more impact if they didn't swap out Jack o Lanterns every ten minutes.

Flash fought one as Venom, Deadpool killed one, and what's this guy's story?

The one who showed up during the War of the Realms with a dream stone like Brock had?

Hell, Osborn had one on his payroll (Maguire Beck), back when he was running the Bugle...

Please! That was Mad Jack. Don't rope her in with these clowns. Maguire could throw her talking "head" at people and have it explode. I still desperately hope she makes a return one day. She'd be a good fit with that all female Sinister Syndicate. A good "Sinister" team needs a Beck, after all.

Yeah...I guess I just bring her up because I miss her, along with her contemporary at the time, Delilah. Both of them felt very stealth LGBTQ+ representation (Maguire is gender non-conforming and Delilah is...a whole beautiful mess of femme/butch fusion), and it'd be nice to have them recontextualised in a more accepting modern environment.

That and no one has made clear why Delilah has weird speech bubbles.

I remain iffy on Cantwell in general, as his writing feels somewhat erratic at times, but I don't hate this. I can actually buy into Norman Osborn as a guy attempting to slowly, painfully, make amends for his sins--

--and now I can buy into the inevitable fall and tragedy when they catch up to him and he either succumbs or sacrifices himself to spare others (most likely his family).

Levins. Steven Levins, I think...but he did have a brother, so it might have been him. Levins started out as a Captain America villain, if I recall right. He's also the Jack O'Lantern that got possessed by Lucifier, had his heart torn out by Ghost Rider, lit ablaze, and stuffed back into the open chest cavity.

...Okay, between this and the "goblin mode" joke last issue, I've finally stopped calling him "Christopher Can'tWriteWell" in my head.

I'm confused. Does Norman have his powers or not? If he does, how? If he doesn't, how did he survive the fight with Ben? Riley doesn't seem to be pulling punches at the moment.

Yeah, but whenever someone had their sins taken, the Sin Eater got their powers. It's why Carter sought Mister Negative, Morlun, and Juggernaut in particular.
