It'll take too long to call for help, but clearly, it'll take less time to activate this Hench App, hire some various questionable people, pay them, come up with a plan to infiltrate a bad guy's HQ (speaking of which, how is this business is still up and running?), break in to stop a robbery already in progress, and numerous things.

Right... this is sooo much quicker of a plan that will soooo work out considering how lucky Scott has been in this series.

To be fair....the way they've shown the app working it's kind of like uber; so everything up to formulating the plan should happen within minutes. You send out a request for henchmen, the closest ones respond, and your registered credit card/account is debited once they commit.

I would agree that Scott shouldn't have to go this route, but Reed & Sue Richards aren't contactable, Ben Grimm's in outer space and it wouldn't surprise me if he just doesn't have Johnny Storm's number. On the Avengers side, Hank's in outer space somewhere, Jan isn't actively Avengering, Scott's on the outs with Tony Stark and Hawkeye is on AIM Island right now. Can't think of anyone else he'd be chummy enough with to call for help tbh

What about She-Hulk? I mean, they did work together a few times (including during Fraction's run of FF). Even if she's busy, she knows most superheroes, even her cellphone's large list of contacts, and can easily get into contact with them to send help.

That sound you heard was my disbelief hitting the floor and waddling away as fast as its tentacles could carry it.

I mean on the one hand, this is amusing. But on the other, is there ANYONE in this series capable of making a GOOD decision?

Also, reading the full issue, Hench is pretty stupid as well. They OPENLY advertise in the middle of Miami, with a full stage, light show, and equipment that can give people powers. They advertise about how you can be the evilest you can be and allow you to become apart of the Super Villain Revolution. How has no one else in the Marvel universe notice this crap?!

I read "tentacles" as something else altogether.

And my sole overriding thought was, "Waddling away on your balls sound uncomfortable." Unless you're a tanuki.

So, his plan relies on no one in Hench keeping track of their own operations? Or that they don't care if their clients get pissed that you can just hire them against the people you already hired from them.

I wonder if this whole thing is just Dr. Doom's elaborate long term revenge for Scott Humiliating him and beating him up.

"Okay lets see: 'bring back Scott Lang's daughter", check. 'Implant subliminals that make her become a super villain', Check, 'arrange Power Broker to give her super powers so she can become a villain.' Check, 'arrange it so she steals from the son of her dad's arch enemy.' Check. 'Pop some popcorn, sit back and enjoy revenege.' In progress."

*Puts feet up on sofa.* "Ahh, This is the life. Sometimes Doom just has to take time out to treat Doom."

Doom has to do something in between his other hobby of trolling Tony Stark.

(Reed really needs to come back soon.)

Cause he's a little kid and he wants his mom and dad to look cool fighting bad guys.

Besides, without Doom his sister wouldn't have been born (and his mom likely would have died in childbirth). So erasing him from the timestream is not really an option for him.

I think trying to create universes where people don't have free will and only choose to do good might run into some design problems.

Look how bad SHIELD is. They are not counted supervillains. Free will would be pretty much fine even with a "no supervillains" clause. It's not like we'd notice any difference, considering how things are already progressing. Galactus works for the good guys now. Probably a temporary arrangement, but that's the new benchmark.

Haven't we seen that other heroes have little respect for him (recalling that Tony threatened court action against him for implying endorsement)

Not saying that it's terribly good, but it's sort of consistent... ish

To be fair, Tony was Inverted at that point in time and was even more of a jackass than usual.

But considering this book seems to ignore every bit of character development Scott's ever had (this is a man who was TWICE recruited into the FF to sub for Reed because of his scientific acumen), I'm not surprised by any of it.

Man, this guy has Janet Van Dyne on his speed dial. His daughter was a beloved member of the Young Avengers who was felled in battle as an Avenger. Hell, Scott himself died in the Avengers darkest hour.

Captain America would stop what he would doing if Scott called, no questions. This book hurts me in my continuity. :/

Yeah, that's what really grates. Parts of this comic seem really amusing and fun...so much so that when it fails to deliver, it really rankles.

Scott should maybe lack confidence, but he seems like a know-nothing loser who never gets a break and always make bad decisions. That might make sense in like, 1982, but today...after all he's been through and done? It seems weird and nonsensical.
