scans_dailyEven though I'm more of a Marvel fan than a DC, if you asked me who had the best magical corner of their universe it''s definitely DC. And a major part of that would be Doctor Fate. He's a character that's no stranger to reinterpretations so I'm more a fan of the identity than any singular incarnation. So let's take a look at the latest interpretation.

And it is fairly unfair to compare it with work from Liefield when there are many more artists which deserve that insult, be it because they trace instead of drawing or because they seem spitted out of the Jim Lee factory of conformance design.
And he has a sort of costume though, it's a color tone costume instead of the usual superhero costume, but that is something whose effectiveness will be more or less determined by the artist's skill.

And Set would be a more appropriate god for his role in the story, too, frankly - he's usually a negative god, and associated with storms and destruction, where Anubis is a generally neutral psychopomp.
But Anubis is the entirety of my complaints about the book so far.
