But I suppose it depends on what one considers to be a reasonable return on investment...
After this rather depressing set of images from... I honestly can't remember the name of the crossover it happened in and it's too late and I'm too tired to bother looking it up (I got these via Google Images)

And after a teaser image a couple of weeks ago, Marvel confirmed at SDCC thateveryone's favourite fuzzy elf IS coming back, or is at least being sought out

Oooh, very Dave Cockrum... though I think I could have lived without seeing Azazal again... EVER.
CBR's article on the matter
Oddly, they feel the need to launch an entire new title to do it, with Jason Aaron on wirting and Ed McGuinness on art.
The team that assembles to go hunting for Kurt is made up of Storm, Wolverine (no surprises there), Firestar (Why? Has she ever even MET Kurt?), Northstar, Iceman and Beast.
What sets the events of this story in motion? What causes Wolverine to put together a team to try and find Nightcrawler and perhaps bring him back?
This story is really about Nightcrawler calling for help from the afterlife and again it ties in with the explanation of the Bamfs. What are the Bamfs? Why are they here? And what have they been up to all this time? We'll get answers to those questions in "Amazing X-Men" #1.
So this is a rescue mission for the cast of "Amazing X-Men?" Will any of the team members feel some ambiguity about what they're doing? Will some of them believe Nightcrawler is at peace and they should not disturb that?
There's some of both of that. Nightcrawler was a man of great faith so presumably he'd be at peace and at rest in the afterlife. So for him to step away from that and go on one last adventure would have to mean a great threat has arisen. As I mentioned, that threat revolves around his own father.
Could be fun... I hope, I know that Aaron has something of a patchy record of popularity here with WATXM, a title I have little interest in myself, but....
So, anyone else pleased/appalled to seem him come back?
