You know... as much as I want Peter back, and as much as I expect him to come back, this storyline is not as bad as it could have been. The potential for greatness exists, and some of the twists taken have been thought-provoking.
Looking back at old stories like this further cements the possibility that, of all Peter's enemies, Otto makes for the most compelling storytelling, since, short of the Osborns, he's had the most complicated and emotionally deep relationship with the hero.
I know it won't last forever, and when it does end, I hope that it somehow leads to a permanently (as permanent as comics are) changed Otto with a new lease on life. Maybe, dare I say it, he can get his brain uploaded to a LMD or AI and become an Otto-bot?
It did strike me that there was a particular reason Spider-Man 2 was a better film than either of the other Raimi movies, and that was Ock, really. Even with the different characterisation, they work best as opposite numbers far more than Venom (way too nineties) and Norman (way too nuts).
While Green Goblin is my favorite, Ock is definitely a better perennial arch-nemesis. With Gobbie I feel like there's a single definitive story to be told with the character and after that keeping them around lessens them, whereas Ock is able to come back again and again without it feeling forced. Ock makes more sense as a staying threat.
Has it been stated that it actually is going to be Angelina, or could it be someone else using the alias? because I can't help but to draw the parallel that once again Otto is involved with a woman with a (by comic book standards) less than conventional body type. Judging by what we've seen his best intentions to be so far, I could see him offering her a way out / a way to "fix" her.
IDK I think it's more likely that Stunner will go after Spidey for his role in "killing" Doc Ock. I think Slott would get a lot of flack if he had Otto "fix" a little person.
I understand that, that's what I was alluding to. Angelina was overweight, not conventionally beautiful by comic book standards. it would be an interesting twist on the transformation that the stunner technology was originally used for if its gave Miss Marconi the chance to be in a standard size body
Spidey is known for being a blue collar peoples champ sort of hero by the public...why do I feel that when all is said and done and he gets his body back he'll become public enemy #1 even amongst his peers...it seems like marvel is hellbent on making spider-man from square one. Im so sick of these earth shattering world ending character rebuilding events that these heroes go through every 5-10 years.,Instead of destroying the characters and lego-ing them back together how about we just focus on keeping them recognizable and telling a good story

"I ... am not in the habit of taking lives"
Or Indirectly.
Twenty'll get you Forty if it's indirectly, it becomes an 'Uncle Ben' teachable moment to Otto.
Forty will get you Eighty it won't matter in a few issues in favor of the next big drama.
