Date: 2013-06-23 06:35 pm (UTC)RttFP uses musical numbers from the 50's and 60's sung and performed live by the cast; Spaceship control panels and the like are used to conceal kepyboards and drum kits and others just pick up guitars and play, and Ariel is a robot on rollerskates.
If you get a chance to see it, I do recommend it.
I picked that version in the link because she sings a good version of the Connie Francis original, and her little skipping go-go dance steps are adorable.

Date: 2013-06-23 06:43 pm (UTC)Mainframe's CGI was superb for it's era, and I'll defend Beast Wars charactetisation and plotting as being perhaps the strongest Transformers has ever had. The five episodes at the end of Season 2 - "Code of Hero", "Transmutate" and "The Agenda 1,2 and 3" remain the best of any iteration I can think of.
