I continue to be happy with how big an improvement this story is from Fractions first arc on Thor.  A lot of it is the art, which is much more suited to the property than was Ferry's, but it's just a much better story too.

Last issue, Thor pulled the magic glowy thing from the base of the World Tree, but Odin reveals to Heimdall that it is actually an egg of some sort.  The Silver Surfer detects the presence of the cosmic egg, and realizes it could sate Galactus for a long time to come, so he heads to Earth to demand it:

Admittedly, the Surfer's power level varies, but I really don't think he should be able to fight both Thor and Odin.
