Cap is on the West Coast to visit the West Coast Avengers and comes across a new villain by the name of the Armadillo.
Armadillo's wife is deathly ill, so he is doing the bidding of one Dr. Karl Malus in the hope of curing her.
The glowing figure is the Beyonder. He is so inspired by America's ass that he creates a physical form based on Cap.

Not to mention being pretty cas about handing Erik over to a mad scientist.
Sure, it's just Erik, but this is Cap. And Gruenwald Cap at that, who's usually a lot more uprighteous than that. Thought he'd kick up more of a fuss over something like that.

It's also kind of sad seeing Armadillo here as someone with motivation and a backstory and general desire to be cured of being a giant-sized human armadillo when most of his modern appearances just have him as part of the Villainous Blob, or just a generic Villain of the Week to be beaten up.
