In the comments to these weekly posts (and only these posts), it's your chance to go as off topic as you like.

Talk about non-comics stuff, thread derail, and just generally chat among yourselves.

The intent of these posts is to chat and have some fun and, sure, vent a little as required. Reasoned debate is fine, as always, but if you have to ask if something is going over the line, think carefully before posting please.

Normal board rules about conduct and behaviour still apply, of course.

It's been suggested that, if discussing spoilers for recent media events, it might be advisable to consider using the rot13 method to prevent other members seeing spoilers in passing.

The world situation is the world situation. If you're following the news, you know it as much as I do, if you're not, then there are better sources than me.

The Fox/Dominion court case was settled out of court for an eye-watering amount of money (Though they don't have to admit wrongdoing), and Tucker Carlson has now got the dubious distinction of having been fired by CNN, MSNBC AND Fox News in his career.

"Once and Always", the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers 30th Anniversary special aired. Some fun moments, even if the acting was... rarely MMPR's strong point. Clearly intended as a tribute to Thuy Trang's Trini, the original Yellow Ranger, it was rather overshadowed by the passing of Jason David Frank happening between the special being shot and it being aired, so whilst Trini was referred to with respect and admiration, Tommy was treated as "just another Ranger who is never seen unmorphed", it felt a little odd. Though even a cynic like me felt a little choked up at the finale scene, a flashback to an early episode where Amy Jo Johnson sang and played guitar whilst the rest of the group watch (They may be the oldest teenagers this side of 90210, but they all look so YOUNG!)

Picard came to an end with a PHENOMENAL amount of nostalgia, most of it hitting the mark (even though it seemed to have more "last scenes" than "Return of the King"), but also leaving lots of room for a sequel should the "next-er" generation be available.

"The Mandalorian" ended an uneven third season, using a certain brutal effciency in wrapping up plotlines, perhaps in case they didn't get a season 4? But if it had been the end, it would have been a nice final scene for the show.

Comedian, satirist and surrealist Barry Humphries died at the age of 89, perhaps best known as his spectacular alter ego "Dame Edna Everage".

I was astonished at how hard in the paint Robo Rita went. Hearing Barbara Goodson really rub salt in the wound while she chewed the scenery and snarl "I'LL KILL YOU" was a trip.

I'm really hoping when Zedd takes his turn as the big bad again, they bring her back. Can't have the Emperor of Evil without his Empress by his side, can you?

It's sad seeing Barry Humphries pass away. Man could that guy turn a phrase. What jumped immediately to mind was when he's playing an aged lothario in Absolutely Fabulous: the Movie.

Joanna Lumley (Patsy): ...She's a gold digger!
Barry Humphries: I'm a gold MINE!

The ending of Picard actually made me tear up, so... mission accomplished I guess?
