NS: Avengers: Doomsday cast reveal
Marvel released a cast video for the upcoming Avengers film. In addition to some of the usual suspected names (also spoiling who survives Thunderbolts) we're also going to be seeing the some of the Fox X-Men again; Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen and a few others. Not complaining but I do wonder when we'll get to the MCU recasting the X-Men or if they'll just keep on bringing back familiar faces.

Sentinels #5: "Factory Settings"

"The tapestry of X is so rich, every supposedly minor character is always someone’s favourite so you have to treat them all with respect. That said, there are underutilized characters that I am using, absolutely. There are no minor characters, and I plan to use them exhaustively. It’s a very deep bench, and there are characters with five appearances who are just as cool as Wolverine."

NYX #8

Previously: Hellion was calling himself the Krakoan and committing terrorist attacks as cover to secretly kill city officials, as part of a 5-dimensional chess plan to somehow create a new Krakoa with Empath in charge.
Anyway, let's check in with Hellion.

X-Men #10: "Brinkmanship"

"All the characters currently in play have been announced. There will probably be some flex coming down the line. It's not a team I would say is firmly structured, like the Avengers, for instance. With the Avengers, it's like, these are the big Marvel characters. Whereas with X-Men, it's like, here are some big-name X-Men characters, here are some smaller-name X-Men characters — let's see what happens when they come together. And let's see if we can make these small names into bigger names."

Sentinels #4: "We Assembled Him in the Kitchen"

"Because damage and pain are inflicted by people who have been damaged and are in pain. If we fail to understand this cycle, we're condemned to repeat it. One thing that came up early on in our discussions was the idea that even the original Sentinels were products of emotion. We think of them as remorselessly logical and cold, but in reality, Sentinels are just human paranoia given form. They're lumps of congealed fear, born of an acute sense of vulnerability and inadequacy."

Sentinels #1: "Necessary Monsters"

"The idea of incarcerating mutants to protect mutants is some pretty Orwellian doublethink — and yet most of us, myself very much included, internalize less absurd contradictions in our daily lives. In many ways, this is a book about the comforting lies we tell ourselves to cope with those contradictions."

X-Men #5: "Psychic Rescue in Progress"

"Yeah, Psylocke is very much the professional. You know, a lot of them are arguing or goofing around, but she's always been the one who gets things done. And she's the one who Cyclops looks to to do that. She's not going to get distracted. She's not going to mess up. And she has the focus of a ninja assassin because that's who she is. But of course, that background is also the reason why she's with the X-Men, as we're going to see explained in X-Men #5."

NYX #3: "Victor"

"Well, one of the ways we first approached this was looking at, first and foremost, what characters did we love? If you only get one chance to write X-Men, you should write the things that you love and care about. And for us, that meant going deep and pulling, not necessarily the classics, but finding those characters that exist in the corners who haven't had their full story told. A character like Anole, who I've always loved since he was just a little green lad going up through his journey of not only discovering how to be a lizard man but how to be queer within that space is an incredible story. And yes, he's been trapped behind a bar, but what does that mean now that he's forced to get out of it? That's a rich story that we feel deserves to be told."

"'Victor' is a story of how community deals w/ tragedy & hate through sorrow and celebration."

X-Men #4: "Upstarts"

"Yeah, there are moments for different characters to shine because this is a large team, but you want everyone to be able to do their Claremont stuff, right? So I'm trying to make sure that everyone's getting, if not the focus in every issue, everyone's getting some focus as we go on. So in X-Men #4, we've got some good Juggernaut stuff and we've got some good Magik stuff."
