While the Guardians of the Galaxy recently relaunched with a new look and creative team, with little connection to the previous, there has been published an issue - a one-shot - featuring the team as Al Ewing left them.

Only... don't get your hopes up. Yes, those are the character designs, but the line-up is the movie cast (plus Nova). No Hercules, no Marvel Boy, no Moondragon or Phyla. It's more of an inventory story than any sort of tribute to that era of the team.

And Drax says: "Ohmigod".

I've spoken about Rocket at length in the past — my thing with him is always the difference between his original appearances, when he was a funny animal character who made a lot of puns, had a lot of wild adventures, and got into a lot of scrapes, and his modern appearances, where he's a violent, somewhat amoral thief [...] There's a fall from grace in his past, essentially — at some point, he lost everything that made him who he was and became a different character. -- Al Ewing
