Look there are other covers for this issue, perfectly decent and sensible covers, but honestly, I couldn't NOT post this variant by Rafael Sarmento and maintain my reputation.

Even by MY standards this one is a bit.. Well... much? )

Marvel have announced they are doing a "new" Wild Cards series!

Click to embiggen the lovely cover for #1 by Steve Morris. (That is one SERIOUSLY pretty Jetboy!)

For the first time in comic book form, witness the very beginning of the Wild Cards mythos with an adaptation of the very first stories in the original Wild Cards novel. Based on stories by Harold Waldrop, Roger Zelazny and series master-mind and editor, George R.R. Martin, Wild Cards is a fascinating saga set in a whole new world reshaped by the emergence of superpowers. The limited series, titled THE DRAWING OF CARDS, will be written by a team of comic superstars, writer Paul Cornell and artist Mike Hawthorne, and serve as a perfect entry point for Wild Cards newcomers and a must-have new reimagining for Wild Cards aficionados!

Since the introduction of Bitewing Haley a few months ago, we've been left wondering "How can someone with the peripatetic lifestyle of Dick Grayson take on the repsonsibility of looking after a dog?"

Now in the preview of Nightwing #84 we have the answer, and as is so often the case with Dick Grayson...

He gets by with a little help from his friends )

Now Bruno Redondo's artwork on the Nightwing has been good... very good... DAMN good, if I might be so bold. It's clear, and kinetic and his Dick Grayson is ridiculously pretty.

So it's a little surprising that he's only drawing one image for this issue

But it's not what you think )

It's Saturday, it's been a LONG week and some straightforward fun, and prettiness, is what I feel in the need for.

Luckily, the current Nightwing run is providing that. With Past Present and Future

Past - #78 get's a second printing with a new cover

It's not out until the 16th of March, so this seems VERY early, but we have a proper, full colour preview of Nightwing rescuing a persecuted puppy from perfidious pooch pluggers. (That sounded better in my head, sorry)

Because of COURSE he is! )

Adventures in poor Taste has an interesting interview with Jonathan Hickman up

And one of the things he mentions (along with a fascinating idea about how telepaths are shaped by their emotional environment growing up, which makes a LOT of sense but I've never seen articulated) is that Giant Size X-Men: Nightcrawler's release date has been moved up.

It's switched release dates with the Giant Size X-Men: Magneto, since Alan Davis finished the former, and Ben Oliver had to take some extra time to finish the latter.

Now, Alan Davis drawing Kurt Wagner is ALWAYS a treat, he draws him fabulously, and so this was always going to be a DEFINITE purchase for me, but the preview image that AIPT has up also made my jaded little heart come as close to outright sqeeing as I am capable of (Which isn't very much I admit, but it's a start

LOOK WHO HE'S GOT WITH HIM! )
