Like its precedent in 2021, it coincides with the Generations sub-toyline " Shattered Glass " - the one where the Autobots are the villains and the Decepticons are the heroes.

It picks up on Shattered Glass #5's ending - the deposed warlord Goldbug having the solace of controlling a Titan of Cybertron, and Ultra Magnus gaming out the ripples of that.

Shattered Glass II #1 focuses on Magnus after that, tracking both narratively and with him being the first of five in Shattered Glass' second wave.

It also focuses on Magnus before that - Ultra Magnus, legal adviser to the then-up-and-coming Orion Pax.

Magnus' leadership of Pax's special squad led to conflict with a friend, Shockwave of Cybertron's Senate:

He solved this instance of conflict by throwing Kup at Impactor.

(Shockwave's line should probably read " special dispensation ".)

(Shattered Glass Magnus' death's-head visage originated in the original iteration of Transformers' mirrorverse, the Fun Publications one.

There, it was Optimus Prime taking his face for punishment.

Here, it's what lies under a calmer holographic visage - the cloaking of obvious evil in polite fiction, literalized.)

After that incident, Magnus dealt with Impactor.

Pax tasked Magnus and his Wreckers with the taking of the Cybertronian Senate.

They took it.

(Magnus referring to Orion as " Optimus " when he was still Orion Pax is a miss, but nothing says he couldn't have been kicking around the name-change then.)

Magnus took Shockwave, in the past.

In the present, he and the Wreckers were taking Pax-called-Prime - the situation of Goldbug having a Titan, and of the Decepticons establishing a foothold in what they'd taken from Goldbug, had occasioned Magnus to take the direction of his actions out of Optimus Prime's hands.

Prime reacted to that:

Magnus went on:

He stood, victorious.

His Wreckers were likewise successful:

They took in their victory.

(Like the Fun Publications iteration, Shattered Glass Rodimus has facial hair.

The visibly shocked Wrecker is Shattered Glass Drift.

Pagecount is just under 6 and 2/3rds of 20 from Shattered Glass II #1 in August 2022.

Writing's Danny Lore, art's Marcelo Matere and Andrew Lee Griffith, colors're John-Paul Bove, and lettering's Jake M. Wood.

A dear friend of mine was lucky enough to get to do a variant cover for this series. It was one of the ones with heroic Soundwave, I think.
