Miles' current costume really does make him look him look like a grey alien in disguise, doesn't it? The way his mask wrinkles in the penultimate panel of that second scan really makes it look like it's skin...
I CAN NOT get behind Miles' new costume. It's like I'm allergic. It'd be one thing if it was for the winter or especially windy days, but I just don't like it.
Oh, that sort of thing happens regardless of costume. Remember Kang's copy of Spider-Man? Tried to take out the Avengers and came back with ageing webbing.
No, Rictor is on the cover but not have a story inside.
The new character mentioned is the mysterious Chimera, who spars with White Tiger before disappearing mysteriously while mysterious shadowy figures look on. Mysteriously. Hardly an exciting introduction.
No, America's story does not undo her origin retcon, and in fact plays heavily on her relationship with her father.
I'm still hoping someone retcons the retcon soon. Like, make the sister, I dunno, some kind of multiversal parasite that knows how to get to America's home universe, but needs America physically in front of her/it to get there or something.
I figure the easiest way is to say that the current backstory is that of the 616 America, who is different to Utopian Parallel America. 616 America is dead or missing, and UA America is being forced to take her place.
If I had a nickel for every female character who had a father retconned into their specifically "no men involved" backstory to their narratice detriment, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't much, but it's weird that it happened twice.
(Wonder Woman remains the primary offender of course, but America Chavez is a close second)
I also suspect there are other characters in a similar situation I'm just not thinking of right now, but two nickels is enough.
Where would Rachel Grey fall on that one? Because if I recall correctly at least one retcon the poor girl's been subjected to was the Phoenix Force was her bio-parent. (And another one hinting Wolverine was her dad. Damn Claremont...)
If anything she's the reverse, someone whose father was retconed OUT.
She was always Scott's kid with Jean (hence why Sinister who obsesses over the Summer line, nearly plotzed when he finally got a few skin cells from Rachel) but the idea tat the Phoenix was her mother AND her father was introduced in, IIRC an interview that Claremont gave on Jay and Miles Xplain the X-Men.
If Logan has ever been suggested as her Dad I have either never heard of it, or blocked it from my memory as a defence mechanism.
I know it's not anything to do with the scans here, but she's on the cover, so...
Just a reminder that Ava del Toro has lasted longer as White Tiger than her brother and aunt, without being hurriedly shoved onto a bus forever or arbitrarily killed off. Woo?

America has... a... father?
Out of cheese error! Please reboot universe!
