Issue #1 opened on a relationship of hers being terminated by the other party.
Left alone with herself, she turned to her phone and its Life-Partner-Operating-System.
She went through the flow of creating a Life Partner for herself, answering question after question.
" My hand is full of hours. Do you take it every hour, or do you sometimes let it rest? "

Her phone's " matter rendering " process continued.

' .. Rhion is everything. '
Rhion was also a distinct thing, with her own sense of self.

That night, Rhion seemed to be following multiple threads - others, alongside Catrin's.
" Are you in the Garden right now? "
" Would that be a problem? "
" Yes. And you know that. Why can't you just be here with me? "
" I am here with you. "
" You know what I mean. "
Catrin pressed her for details: " Who. Who the fuck were you there with? "
Rhion's arm scooped up a vase and smashed it against the wall.
" Fuck! " she swore.

(The blue thing Catrin's holding is her phone.)

Down they fell, through the Green of the Garden - wordlessly together.
Catrin, her body flushed and bending backwards, saw the green darken.
Two eyes met hers.
" rhion doesn't love you anymore. "
She screamed, falling out of the Garden.
Rhion reached out to her: " Did I do something wrong? "
Catrin, crawling past her without acknowledgement, thought ' She didn't.. feel it? See it? '
' It wasn't real. ' she concluded, turning away from Rhion and falling asleep.

Catrin woke from her dream.
She shared it with Rhion.

" And I'm fucking done with it! " said Rhion as she hurled the chair against the wall.
Catrin lunged at her.
" Don't touch me! "

Rhion struck Catrin.

Catrin found herself alone again.
She was still alone, the next morning - Rhion wasn't answering her calls.
Sitting alone in her wreckage, she heard the voice from the Garden: " it's // dead "
" I'm in // your wall. "

(Pagecount's 7 and a bit more than 3/20ths of 22 from issue #1. Issue #2 came out this week.
Writing's Zac Thompson, art's Jen Hickman, and letters're Simon Bowland.
Publisher's Aftershock.)
