This reminded me of that storyline where Betty Brant is indoctrinated into a cult, so I went to get scans from that. Then I saw that it was written by Peter David.
In general, I've always been a fan of "Bank robber with a gimmick" type villains. And I'm even more of a fan of "doesn't want to kill the hero, just wants to make a quick buck" kind of villains. You don't see that as much anymore. The threat levels just keep escalating.
