The People's Choice!

This comes from Weird Science #16.

The puppet star of a popular children's show tells his audience that he is going to run for president.

As people are dissatisfied with the current candidates, many decide that they will vote for Allie as a form of protest.

What an odd alien invasion. No one's killed, and people get to retain their free will some of the time.

On the other hand, there goes any human activity requiring two free hands.

Nonsense. The people have their own one hand and presumably both of the gator's free hands. That's three free hands where they'd once had to rely on only two. All glory to the alien gator parasites.

Aye...

It's kinda telling that even losing an arm to an otherwordly parasite seems like a preferable scenario to what we got.

I feel like this was made entirely to satirise conspiracy theories, given that there's no specific reason one of them had to get elected President (rather than, say, assimilating the currently-serving President) in order for the rest of them to come out of the swamp.

Well, it legitimisies their powerbase... kinda...
