Aikku hasn't had much to do during New Avengers. She's had a few moments of shooting stuff, and one or two character scenes, but it came together pretty well. In fact, having her in focus might have hampered this scene a bit. She's been cut off from the outside world, lost so much... but it was a choice she made, to save someone elses life. Pretty damn awesome.

Also, I think this might be the best use of Ulysses visions so far. Not the big DOOM moments, the background details.

I find it hard to imagine Reed going off in this cheerily sociopathic direction, though. He'd be more of a "I hate that I have to do this but it's the only way" sort of guy.

And that's the big difference between Ultimate Reed and a... morally lost version of Classic Reed. Ultimate likes who he is.

Good point. Classic Reed might go off the rails, but he wouldn't laugh while doing it.

And Reed wouldn't be as sociopathic as the Maker about it. He's been brusque and all, but he doesn't see the people around him as pawns to manpulate.

I can see Reed changing drastically because of the sheer scale of his character. Not that I like the Maker, mind you. But if Reed thought it was necessary to modify himself – say, to augment his brain a thousandfold by living ten thousand lives in a compressed-time pocket dimension or whatever – who knows what would emerge out of it.

I'm wondering at this point: Which of Ulysses' predictions have actually come true? I mean, he preducted the Hulk would go mad and kill everyone, but he actually got shot in the head, so I'm assuming his accuracy is a bit off.

Most of his predicitons haven't come true because of interdiction by Team Carol. Which you would think would tip Carol off that Ulysses' visions aren't as rock-solid immutable truth as she's been assuming.
