As one of my favorite mangas of the year, I would like to share with you all the opening of A Silent Voice. We'll cover the first chapter and go from there in the future.



The first few chapters of the series are told in flashback. The story starts off in the present with a teen called Shoya Ishida, who is visiting a girl at her school called Shoko Nishimiya. She looks puzzled by his appearance at first, but soon just runs off. He follows after, trying to "talk" to her.

From there, we flashback six years ago to when he was much younger and still in elementary school. He and friends fight off boredom in their own and unique ways, like jumping off small bridges. One day...





We see some more bits with him and his friends, getting into more trouble (though some are drifting away).
