And we get a reveal about one of the new characters which, I think, makes them unique in the big two comic universe's.



In an earlier post Porcelain was discussed a little in the replies and it was noted that they present as a female named Kani, but were not being completely specific.

Here, in Comicosity's preview of issue #4, we get a little more info, as the Six visit each of their member's accommodation to pick up their stuff to move it into their new home. Big Shot and Catman discuss matters, and Big Shot worries about Black Alice, as is his wont. The Ventriloquist "reassures" them that...




Note that Porcelain is not, as far as we know, a shapeshifter like Mystique, or Cloud, but is a genuine genderfluid character; Kevin, Kani, we don't know who they were first, and that's as it should be I think.

Okay, the preview of issue four is out, and it has a pretty big reveal about Porcelain. Which makes me happy. And we’re already getting a lot of feedback about it, wonderfully.

So I wanted to thank you folks here. A while ago, when I was doing research for Porcelain (I am being careful with the wording here only because people might be reading this without seeing the spoiler note), I asked everyone who might identify similarly to chime in, and a bunch of folks were absolutely wonderful and generous and that helped make Porcelain feel a million times more real, I think. Once again, THANK YOU.

We will talk about this more soon, and yep, the book WILL have the pronoun discussion. :)

See, that's how you handle these things IMHO, you ASK PEOPLE about it, and you listen to them, and you learn and then you write. And sometimes you may screw up, but then you apologise, learn again and do better.
