Ultron may be a genocidal murder-bot, but he thinks ahead. "Plants and animals might someday evolve to be a threat to me. Better kill them all, too."

Ultron attacks the West Coast Avengers compound and is confronted by the Vision. This is when the Vision was in his "yellow/white skin and no emotions" mode.
So, if Ultron is the only living thing on Earth and all other robots will be an extension of him... who is he going to talk to?
