The break-out character from Geoff Johns' Green Lantern run explodes into avaricious action in his own brand-new series!

'Larfleeze is a chance to do a fun comic book, surrounding him with new characters, new villains, new ideas, new sections of the galaxy. New, new, new, new, new, new, new.

'I guarantee six major, new, cosmic villains in the first 12 issues, as well as alien worlds and all kinds of craziness with Larfleeze.'

'And fun. No deep thoughts, no misdirection or trickery. You just come in, there's Larfleeze and look! He's having an adventure, with a bunch of exciting new characters and concepts. At the end of the book, you say, "Yeah, I had a good time reading that book."'

- Keith Giffen

Larfleeze is feeling despondent because enemies have destroyed all his stuff. He's traveled to the edge of the universe to commit suicide. His butler tries to persuade him out of it by giving a pep talk (not least because Larfleeze's powers are the only thing keeping the guy from being killed by the vacuum of space.)

His planet is conquered by alien invaders, and Larfleeze becomes a slave.

The narrative reminds the butler of a question he's been meaning to ask Larfleeze:

Larfleeze kills the dog from within its belly. Then the dog's master shows up, a cosmic being calling himself the Laird of the Hunt. And he's got a bunch of treasure with him.

"Larfleeze will magnanimously permit you to ask it."

Oh, you.

Getting a real nice Zapp/Kroker vibe from this!

Didn't have high hopes for this book despite the creative team but this ended up being a nice surprise.

I still think larfleeze works better as a Backup than a full feature.

This is great.

I'm hoping for a Larfleeze/Rage cat team up in the future.

Huh, I didn't expect anything good from this, but it looks like I was mistaken. I'll have to check this out, seems to be right up my alley.

Hmm... A nigh-immortal race that can produce families with counts in the high teens (even if that's not the norm) would have to have some really, really nasty predators to keep the population from literally blanketing their homeworld.

Only about half of Larfleeze's story is true. And we already know Larfleeze isn't his real name.

I kinda suspect that Larf's people might be, somehow, super evolved pets of the Guardians back on their home world... would make sense, since nearly every corp memeber has some sort of tie to them...
