Wolverine #3: As seen in previous issues, some unknown, mind-controlling force is taking over the bodies of normal humans and using them to cause mayhem. From little kids to postal workers, police officers to gangsters, nobody (except Wolverine) seems immune to possession.

Wolverine and Nick Fury are on the case.

Inside, Wolverine gets into a brawl with the building's overzealous security guards:

The mind-controlled police officers, workers, etc. succeed in stealing and making off with what they came for:

Wolverine #4:

The present day:

The guy helps Wolverine track down the incubator. It's been loaded onto a plane that's heading straight for Yankee Stadium.

The plane crashes into the water.

That's the little kid from the first two issues, the one whose mind-controlled dad Wolverine was forced to kill.

And yet, nothing will be done about this act of war/terrorism Doom tried to perpetrate by the government.

Since this heavily hints that Fury and the co are also being controlled I'd take the revelation that Doom is behind this with a hint of suspicion.

as Wolverine alludes, that's just a 'convenient' conclusion. Dr. Doom mostly sticks within his own borders, and does either the same kind of military adventurism other nations understand, or 'technically legal' stuff, in between world-conquering plots, which come to think of it, he hasn't done in a long time. He may have burned out on running a whole planet after Emperor Doom and Counter-Earth.

Okay, I appreciate that someone remembers that Wolverine having metal bones would make him weigh a lot more.

But, Wolverine? Trying to engender cooperation by reminding people of all the good you've done for them really shouldn't come across as a threat.

Also, pointing out that you've defeated Firelord won't necessarily get people to appreciate you. It didn't work for Spider-Man, after all.

Yeah, if you're going to help people expecting to be paid back in special favors and privileges, you'll hardly be loved.

I was positively surprised by the bone thing too—I wonder how many past scenes would be impossible if someone took into account that Wolverine weights a lot.

Any scene where's he's swimming? IIRC they established many years ago that he can't swim because he sinks like a... well, lump of metal.

I saw it as more like "remember the time we saved you and everyone else? Well, if you want us to do that again, we need your help."

Okay this may just be me, but does it seem like Wolverine loses his shirt every other issue?

If Alan Davis is on art, I'm remarkably okay with that...

But it's almost to the point where his shirt rips when he JUST MOVES HIS ARM.

Is it just me or is Logan messing up the timestream even more often than regularly this year?

He has a bet going with Barry Allen.... the one who disrupts their respective timelines the most gets a beer.

But what if, due to their meddling, beer is now flavored with asparagus instead of hops?

I suspect Logan will slice things - up to an including the Universe itself - until this is rectified.
