Funny, I was reading this and thought, "Catwoman finding out about tentacle pr0n only to get caught up in a tentacle at the end? This is SO S_D worthy."
But yeah, between this and The Return, this was probably the most fun comic I read. :D
I've been wondering where did they get those big tentacle creatures. Their number seems matching cockroach nowadays... And, I'm just saying, they can get the Chinese on an obscene book right and they couldn't get it right on a normal ad board. I'm not complaining, really, I'm not... *sigh*
Grant Morrison stands at the head of the table of writers. All look towards him as a beacon of light in the dark. His ideas will lead the Batman books for the foreseeable future. He is looked at with awe and not a little fear. His voice rings out true and deep, with that accent that he is known for. The words dictate the book, the book dictates the words. The ripples of the words will arc throughout DC for time forward.
so Lord Death Man, to set this little thing up, rented out the apartment exactly below, filled it with water, smuggled in an octopus, and did a little floorwork one up.
i loved everything about this issue morrison is the f'ing man!
(last two pages for the epic win! was anybody else reading the black captions in the voice of the guy that used to do the voice over for the adam west batman show? LoL) ;)
I thought this whole issue was a homage to Adam West Batman with Julie Newmar guest starring as cosmetics heiress "Elva Barr" and with a cliffhanger that will have you turning in same Bat Time, same Bat Title.
Heh... Reading the black lines in the next-to-last page totally had me thinking of the old narrator from the 60's TV show. All that was missing was "Tune in next week! Same bat-time, same bat-channel!"
hahahha I love this. Selina/Batman is kind of as close as I get to "shipping" and watching them be awesome and competent crimefighters together is great.
So is Mr. Unknown actually dead, or is that some other guy? I find it suspicious that we didn't get a dramatic close-up shot of him - I think we would have if he had been authentic.
In the first few pages Lord Death Man burns Mr. Unknown's hands with acid, and then throws it directly into Unknown's eyes. It's safe to say he's dead.
So let me get this straight, anyway, Gotham is turning into the happy corner of the DC universe right? Happy families and harmony and love and all. Uhm. this is the vibe a I'm getting from Bruce's return stories and this now....
If I wasn't mostly an Arrow family fan, I'd be 100% happy with this trend, but the comparison leaves me with a bitter taste in my mouth in the end. Oh well, *shrug* enjoy, different people, different priorities, I'm happy for you, dudes!
From my comfortable 'not giving a fuck about BatCat' sofa, I can still enjoy the art and the colours. * *

I've made the comparison myself a few times here, especially in regards to Dinah. Her return to Gotham and the Bats, especially the whole scene where the Birds reunite ("Not gonna cry.")...
...comes off as her leaving a very bad place and coming back to her much nicer home town and more functional family.
Not that Gotham isn't still dark and gritty compared to Central/Keystone City, but it's more Bronze Age dark and gritty than Iron Age, with the Bat Family as icons for the people of Gotham, bringing hope and inspiration.
Star City and the Arrows, meanwhile, seem stuck in Iron Age Grimdark.
This could be good if they stick with it. I was disappointed with the end of Hush because they didn't have Bruce and Selina try to stay together and restore the status quo. I'm not saying I want Bruce happy in love all the time, but I think it's long past time to have him at least attempt a healthy relationship with someone. For that matter, when's the last time that even happened?
