You could also take this as Cass agreeing to do something really nice (in typical skewed batstyle) for her best friend, which really is about the best salvaging of the situation you could ever hope for.

Yeah--I've been thinking that was the intent almost the whole time. Cass knows that Stephanie got a bit of a bum rap, but she's Cass' friend, and like Bruce says in the end of this, everyone deserves a second chance.
