But you don't know for certain. So it could possibly be as few as thirty, one for each of those years of stories? Assuming a forty carat stone each time, that's about 1200 carats, around one thousandth the amount mined each year, or about the same number as are produced by other synthetic means.

Wow, such a vast hit on their rarity. Yeah, he's really wrecking the economy.

No, and you have no idea how much gold the aliens are actually using to pay all their dues either, but it's unlikely that such bright, cautious and seemingly responsible beings are going to be wreck the economy single handed either.

Actually, it should be obvious why Supes' diamonds haven't affected the market. De Beers just buys them up and stores them to keep the demand on their diamonds high.
