Thor takes yet another step closer to his inevitable doom. Can the thunder god escape his final fate when we're advertising it at the top of the cover? -- Al Ewing
"God does not play dice with the universe; He plays an ineffable game of His own devising, which might be compared, from the perspective of any of the other players, i.e., everybody, to being involved in an obscure and complex variant of poker in a pitch-dark room, with blank cards, for infinite stakes, with a Dealer who won't tell you the rules, and who smiles all the time." - Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, Good Omens.
To be fair, it's not Loki's fault if people neglect to ask the right questions at the right time... And throughout this entire run, Loki has been acting in a specific meta-storyteller role and Thor should be extra-wary. Loki's not the villain, but they're certainly ... challenging.
tbh I am always impressed Thor manages to keep pace as well as he does considering he isn't a super genius or anything.
Its also always fun when people not in Loki's league try to trick Thor and get stomped because Thor and his sibling have been clowning each other for eternity. If I have any complaint its that I rarely see the reverse. I wanna see Loki beat the shit out of someone because they are used to fighting Thor.
There's something along those lines near the end of the Loki mini from ~2023 - Loki, tracking down fragments of an item of power he made in the past, finds that one of them's being currently used as a weapon by Daredevil's enemy Bullseye.
They corner Bullseye - who forgoes the magic weapon for a knife, figuring he can take " a shrimpy, weaselly God of - "
Bullseye gets his face smashed into the ground by the next page.
