"What kind of twit do you take me for" is not a question Digger should really be asking.
Like, ever.

(So, how did Selina's life start to come apart at the seams?)

Someone needs to upload the scene of Boomerbutt from the Phoenix Gambit.

If you know, you know.

I do recall Firestorm Annual of JLI taking on the Squad, Boomerang slices a Batarang mid-air, gloating "only as good as your weapon, mate!"

Batman punches him. "Your weapon's a gimmick, Harkness. I am my own weapon."

Oh Kitey... you do not have the prestige, reputation, or intimidation factor needed to double cross your own men. You betray a couple of henchmen, they'll talk, and soon no one will work with you. For instance, people work for the Joker even though he's just as likely to kill them because he presumably pays well and/or terrifies the fuck out of them.

I can just see him showing up to the hiring halls and being laughed out.

But then again, Kite-Man is one gimmick away from being a mook himself.

"Why do some children never grow up?" asks the man who dresses up in an outlandish costume with a cool set of toys every night to work out his childhood trauma.

Ah, Kite Man. Good ol’ Charlie Brown.

I really have a lot of love for Bronze Age Batman and the awareness of his limitations. Like, absolutely, the guy whose whole gimmick is kites is going to be better. And Bats says it out loud. These days, at best, it would be restricted to a “I hate to admit it, but he might be better than me” caption.

Heck, I can’t see the Bat editors of the 90’s and 00’s even allowing Boomerbutt to come that close to a win.
