In the 90s I used to get a lot of random grab bags of cheap comics (no, the industry is fine, why would you ask?) at places like Walmart. Popping into a random Spider-Man or X-Men story isn't the greatest experience but I mostly followed the story.
I got some Avengers issues from around then and it was mostly incomprehensible with characters I didn't recognize.
It isn't much better in 2023. Based on context (and tags) I guess I'm looking at mostly off-model versions of Hercules, Deathcry, Luna, Crystal, Quicksilver, Lockjaw, and maybe Sersi. No idea who the others are.
Marilla was Luna's nanny. Her greatest feat was getting killed by Stark during the Crossing, which is what the mystery boy is foreshadowing here.
I think that dark-haired guy in the back of that one frame with Maybe-Sersi is Dane Whitman, the Black Knight. I base this solely on the fact he was in a love triangle with Sersi and Crystal (who was married to Quicksilver, making things even more complicated)
Did we ever see him again? Who was he? Why did he call Luna "big sister?" God, this was an absolute mess of a storyline.
The dark-haired guy is an alternate reality Swordsman. The dark-haired woman is Magdalene. They're leftovers from whatever the Gathering was supposed to be about.
Don't you just hate it when one of your coworker's kids from the future shows up to deliver portentous bollocks that doesn't even go anywhere?
And of course later on this turned out to be a Space Phantom pretending to be Pietro and Crystal's son as part of Immortus's weird cosplay gaslighting scheme. And since he's a Space Phantom we don't need to wonder why he's dressed like a caveman. He's a Space Phantom. It explains everything.
... though I suppose that blurb at the end is technically right; The Crossing did change the Avengers forever. A bit.

Hercules without a beard just looks wrong.
