When Knight Terrors was announced, I was a bit miffed because a) It pushed everything I was reading back another two months before getting the story continued and b) The idea of EVERY book in the line having the same sort of tie in tale sounded tedious to me. Thankfully, while A) is still a problem, I've been pleasantly surprised with b). Some books present the characters in the Elseworld of their supposed dreams, some use actual dream logic and some are about the Knight Terrors story as a whole.
Knight Terrors: Superman (by current Superman writer Joshua Williamson and Tom Reilly, famous for the covers of from 2022's Ant Man and 2023's Wasp) puts Superman in a dream world, and then snaps him out of it. Reilly's art is lovely, and there's some fun touches in it too. If I wanted to read more of this sort of Superman, where the Planet is a big part of the story, what should I be looking for?
The panels of Superman falling into the sea are him in the real/waking world.

For more on Superman's pals, scroll to the end of the post.

That's a lovely double page spread.
Lois Lane: Witch from superman's Girlfriend #1

Lois is wearing her wedding dress from the 1996 The Wedding Album

Everybody surely recognises The Giant Turtle Man from Superma's Pal Jimmy Olsen vol.1 #153

Bizarro Jimmy Olsen debuted in 1961 in Adventures Comics #287
Lois's green outfit is from the Battle Between Super Lois and Super Lana in Superman's Girlfriend Lois Lane vol 1. no21

Part2 came out this week, but I'm only on Infinite Ultra, so I haven't read it yet.

Date: 2023-08-19 07:11 pm (UTC)(Loving how despite all the other shifts, Jimmy's in a bowtie - giant turtle man aside.
Some things are just eternal.)
Given the rest of the homages, though, I'm compelled to ask if Lois's look as Clark's working things out is another reference.
Now, is the "Whole World Saved Forever" part a reflection of Clark being afraid of not being needed, or a fear of just having nothing to do (given it's been A Thing on-and-off with him since even before the first Crisis that he needs to be Clark and Superman in equal measure.)
