Kang gave the Avengers information to save 1000 lives across the world in exchange for listening to him. Most of what we see are averting sudden disasters and foiling Hydra and other villains, but one situation required a different touch.

Look. Roxxon is a corporation. A corporation’s job is to make money. It’s not their job to be “moral” or consider “basic decency” or deliver “a quality product”, and it’s not their fault they have to get that money by backing an invading force bent on total subjugation of everything. How else are they supposed to stay afloat and crush the competition in this economy? That’s just called being smart.

I think that being a social worker often involves some sort of degree.

I don't think most heroes wiki's mention what school they went to unless they have a doctorate.

I think a four year degree is assumed unless there is a specific story reason why they would have more or less than that.

Bare minimum to be a social worker in the US is a bachelor's degree in social work or an equivalent program. You need a master's to work in clinical settings, but I don't think we've ever seen Sam conducting therapy.

So yeah, Sam went to college.

He was already a social worker when he first appeared, if I recall correctly. That was 1969, so he wouldn't have needed a college degree at the time, but the sliding timeline means he must have one now.

I’ve been out of the Avengers since the first arc of Aaron’s run, but McKay’s work on Strange and Moon Knight drew me back in. So far, this run’s been phenomenal, especially with its focus on the human side of things.

If I had any complaint, it’s that the line up feels very much like an attempt to create a “Big Seven” for the Avengers, which makes it something of an “old” character line-up. I think Carol is the most recent creation there, and certainly nobody from after the ‘70’s.

The line-up is pretty... well, safe. But then, it's only two issues in.
Plenty of time for a good ol'-fashion roster shake-up.
(Well, okay, that usually takes a year to happen. Or until the next big event. Whichever comes first.)

And it's honestly just nice to have Wanda back on an A-list team book.
(caveat: judgement reserved for if there's yet another "Wanda seeks redemption" story.)

I also admit, I'd really like to see Clint or Jan or both on the team too, though they're both currently spoken for in some form or another.

But you're right. "Safe" is a good word. There's nobody on here that anybody would try and deny "deserves" to be an Avengers as with many line-ups of the last long while.
