Though I question the importace of Slade as a villain, this seems like an interesting choice, and nicely contrasts Dick and Slade, who are a far better set of mirror images than Slade and, say, Batman or Wonder Woman. (And Superman would be a very unequal power balance for a final conflict)

One an optimist, one a pessimist

One defined as a good son, the other defined as a bad father

One became a hero to seek justice, and because it was the right thing to do, the other became a villain for money.

One brightly coloured, other other in darker shades.

And gosh Dick is looking pretty here!
