Digital Comics and you

Comixology and DC

Comixology and Dark Horse

Comixology and Image

Comixology and Marvel

And for those purists who disapprove of digital comics and enjoy the physical product...
Get thee to the waterfront

As construction for the V&A Dundee continues, the site is closed of, as all construction sites are, with big panels.
However, the ones for the V&A have a comic strip on them - Adventures in Design, charting the resurgence of Harris tweed, the development of the Falkirk wheel and more. It's the work of artist Will Morris and designer David MacKenzie and it's bloody massive 150m long.

Marvel has digital copies that come with their comics that can be applied to Comixology. It's a win-win for me. They even ask which comic shop you bought it from.

I've come to hate physical comics with a passion. Trade are fine, but the monthlies are so fragile and take up so much room.

Comixology is a blessing. I buy almost entirely IDW these days, and they allow you to download an actual file, so even if that company sinks in the future, I'll still have copies of all my comics.

I'm slowly getting rid of all of my old floppies. Digital forever!

I use Comixology a lot. Books and movies I prefer in physical format (although I have digital for both) but with these it's convenient for me to read old comics on an iPad as opposed to digging them up. Also there are a lot of great sales there as well.

My comics store is ten miles away and I use it as an incentive for me to take a biking trip once a week. So I'm picking up a lot of floppies still, but I generally either pass them along or donate them after a few months. And Comixology makes an excellent backup. If I didn't have that keep-in-shape incentive, I'd probably be almost exclusively digital.

I only bother with singles if it's a special issue - like say, the little handbook for Lazarus from a few months back. Otherwise I try stuff digitally, then get trades.

I'm about half digital half print... but with my marvel books I will buy the floppy put in the code then toss the floppy in the bin. Mostly I really like my LCS so if I move out of city I'll probably go full digital.

I live more than 250km from a comic shop, so being able to legally get digital comics has been wonderful for me. I buy everything online and occasionally get a print collection if it's particularly nice.
