Date: 2015-04-24 01:58 am (UTC)There was a Poul Anderson sf story called "Day of Burning" where three of his heroes (David Falkyn, Chee Lan, and Adzel) helped the Mersians (who would later be enermies/rivals of Earth---sort of like Klingons) survive a similar fate when a nearby star to theirs went supernova.
