What is DCnU's Wonder Girl's Relationship with Wonder Woman?

In Teen Titans #19 it suggested that Cassie is the daughter of Wonder Woman’s brother Lennox. That would make Wonder Woman her aunt and Zeus now her grandfather instead of father.

I also learnt elsewhere that apparently the thing from the end of the first DCnU storyarc, where Diana removes her bracelets and gets even more powerful, was actually something that had already been established...

You're right. It was done to make NuDiana more dependent on male characters.

Which it does, and for that reason I don't particularly like Zeus being her dad--it makes her power a reflection and a consequence of his. That problem would hardly be improved by having Zeus be married to Hippolyta, though.

Incase you don't get my point, Wonder Woman doesn't need a father, and she sure as &$#@ doesn't need man-hating, cold blooded murdering, incompetent, slave endorsing Amazons as her people. "True to Greek mythology" be danged.

One of the later pre-Flashpoint comics revealed that Diana did have a father: the sealed Hechatonkaires Cocytus, the source of the clay Hippolyta used to sculpt Diana.

Really? This I did not know... An odd sort of thing to just throw in there after all those years wasn't it? Did it impact on Diana in any way?

Aside from being forced to fight her freaky abomination of a "dad", not really.

Her father was a Hechatonkaires??? I'm surprised she looks the way she does if that was the case haha

She's a clay statue given life by the Greek gods, not unlike the mythological Pandora. Diana would only have resembled her "dad" if Hippolyta sculpted extra arms and heads.

Good thing Hippolyta doesn't have THAT sort of a sense of humour....

ha, oh yeah, forgot about that part. Well then, I blame Diana's mum for lack of creativity, and taking the dull way out, considering the source material haha

None of those points have anything to do with being born out of wedlock, though...

Which hasn't been shown to be the case because her origin hasn't really affected her character that much except as a dramatic development in her storyline, and she's proven more than capable of proving herself as being better than the male characters in her own book.

When the male characters in your book tend to be the Greek gods, being better than them ain't that hard. In fact I'm pretty sure the average goldfish could claim to be a better person than much of that particular pantheon and you'd be hard pushed to prove them wrong.

With Wonder Woman "being better than other people" shouldn't even be a question that has to be asked, it should be able to be go without saying.

I know someone who'd argue that point, but she may not be the most objective opinion.

I genuinely doubt that "Beverly Hills Teens" ever dealt with teen pregnancy, it was never that sort of a show.

Jem (which had a deal more soap opera drama to it than the more comedic BHT) managed one episode about runaways, another about drug addiction and one was notionally planned about dealing with an alcoholic parent, but it was never made.
