In the comments to these weekly posts (and only these posts), it's your chance to go as off topic as you like. Talk about non-comics stuff, thread derail, and just generally chat among yourselves.
As part of a seeming ongoing competition as to who can act more like a petulant child rather than a world leader. Boris Johnson, after losing yet ANOTHER vote in the House of Commons, wrote the letter he was legally required to send to the EU to request an extension, but refused to sign it... and then sent another letter which he DID sign saying he didn't really mean it.
There have been votes, and counter votes, and amendments, and a march bu over a million people (estimated) demanding at the least, another Referendum on the Brexit Deal which BoJo has reached (and which looks like a less impressive version of Theresa May's), and which the Chancellor of the Exchequer refuses to publish an economic impact assessment of (because what good would FACTS do). There will be another vote today which MIGHT pass, and... look I'm reaching the point where I want to bang my head repeatedly into a nice solid wall at this point.
Meanwhile, not to be outdone, POTUS 45 has called the Emolument's clause in the US Constitution "Phony"
And Facebook has reported that Russia has a well resourced plan to meddle in the 2020 US elections. Surprise surprise!
A week after the first human to walk in space, Russian cosmosnaut Alexei Leonov, died aged 85, NASA astronauts Jessica Meir and Chrsistina Koch carried out the world's first all female spacewalk last week after an attempt earlier this year had to be cancelled because of a lack of spacesuits small enough to fit one of the astronauts.
The Catholic Church has launched an "e-Rosary", a sort of spiritual FitBit. A security flaw has been identified and is now reported as fixed.
In probably unrelated news, abortion has been decriminalised, and same-sex marriage made legal in Northern Island.
The last trailer for "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker" has dropped.
I've tried watching Riverdale again, the rest of the world feels surreal enough that I can almost take it at face value.
I also, for reasons which will ever escape me because I can't even blame alchol after this many decades teetotal, watched "The Banana Splits Movie". Words cannot express how wretchedly bad an experience it was, and luckily for you all, this being a text based forum, interpretive dance is not an option either. Suffice to say, it your best friend in the world, one you have shared secrets with since before you were old enough to talk, gives you a copy of this, they are not your friend. Set the media proferred to you on fire, and possibly the friend too, just in case, and then wash yourself thoroughly with carbolic soap because you cannot be too careful.
Oh and there seem to be rumours about that Karen Gillan is up for the lead role in the next "Pirates of The Carribean" movie, as "Redd", who has long been a part of the original ride.
