scans_dailyI've been avoiding the Spidey books since BND just because I am a big fan of the marriage to Mary Jane, and couldn't fathom how rationally Peter would be willing to give it up. Upon taking up an old art project, I had to look for inspiration, and came upon this from "House of M". And it got me thinking. With the Spiderman books soon to reveal what happened (in terms of BND) to the relationship with MJ, it would be a good time to talk about it.

Peter's been focused on MJ for most of the mid-80's til the mid 00's and matured into adulthood because May and Mary Jane have been his anchor's, and he's never known anything but, and never did. But what if his willingness to give it all up started back here? The life he could have had, with memories of a complete and different life (that may not be real) where Aunt May was still in the picture, but someone else shared his life and his bed. And he compromised himself to be able to live that life, during House of M.
How much of that would still linger in the back of Peter's head, and continue to influence him from that day? He began the slipper slope at the moment above....
On a tangent, swinging single 20 something Peter Parker still doesn't sit well with me in a world where he will be competing with Alex Power of Power Pack for jobs and girls. Yeah Marvel, F U and F your BND.
